When I discovered Steven's art I was immediately impressed by the variety and depth of his work. I was intrigued by his use of strokes, textures, abstract form, and his use of words in paintings.
I enjoyed his work so much I decided to commission my own work. My piece, 'Festival' captures the atmosphere of an international landscape bathed in Steven's fun-loving strokes and textures, but it still retains an abstract feel. It is a beautiful piece of art that draws your attention to its depth and colour every time you look at it. It is both warm and bold, creating a frivolous and fun feel, and it is my own personal festival.
I think Steven's gift is that he creates art that speaks to you. His pieces invite you to touch them, contemplate them and dive into them. Steven's artworks are wonderfully enjoyable. The process of commissioning my painting was great fun. Steven was personally committed to understanding what I wanted, my experiences, my home and most importantly, as much as he could about me.
I would recommend anyone to visit Steven's website and talk to him about their own personal showpiece, either as a private commission or from Steven's beautiful 'Dix collection'.
